EMDR

There are experiences that feel stuck.

You may have talked about them, understood them logically, and still feel their weight in your body or your reactions. EMDR offers a different pathway to healing.

Based on the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, EMDR helps the brain reprocess memories that have been stored in a distressing and unintegrated way. Through bilateral stimulation, the brain is able to do what it was originally meant to do, process and resolve.

In EMDR therapy, we work together to:

  • Identify memories that feel “activated” or unresolved

  • Reduce the emotional intensity connected to those experiences

  • Shift negative beliefs toward more adaptive, grounded ones

The goal is for those experiences to feel like something that happened, not something that is still happening.
